Explore instrument placement in 3D
Choose the file's units and up-axis before opening it.
STL/OBJ · up to 1,000 triangles and 8 MB. Your files stay in this tab.
Choose an example or import an STL/OBJ mesh. Set its units and up-axis before opening it.
Imports support up to 1,000 triangles and 8 MB. Generated bridges support 1–5 spans, 5–100 m per span and 2–40 m underside height. Files stay in this tab; closing it clears the scene.
Undo example restores the preceding model and placements.
Place up to four instruments. Q2 has 65 beams across a 30° elevation fan and supports 360° azimuth scanning. Q2S has a fixed 30° fan. The view draws every beam. Q1, Q1S and Q2S have 128 beams; Q2 has 65. Q1 and Q2 have configurable azimuth guides. QMini + SpeedSync has one beam with a selected 50 m or 300 m range.
Source examples retain their saved placement and fan orientation. Selecting a Q model uses the current elevation profile.
Shared illustrative housing. Q2 reference: 382 × 228 × 150 mm. The mounting frame is illustrative.
Coordinates are metres with Z up. Yaw runs from +X toward +Y; pitch rises above horizontal.
Drag an instrument to place it. Use Rotate or R to adjust its angles; Escape cancels.
Drag empty space to orbit. Shift + left-drag or right-drag pans. Use the wheel to zoom, or two fingers to pan/pinch.
Surface snap places the housing on a surface after a short pause. Undo pose restores the preceding placement.
Height is measured from the ray origin to the selected reference plane. Footprint is the greatest separation between sampled first-surface hits. Centre range follows the middle ray.
These are geometric samples. Continuous coverage and signal performance require separate assessment.
The view scale uses a camera-facing plane through the model centre; distances elsewhere vary with depth.
