Q2S Laser RADAR

Q2S Laser RADAR for multi-point structural monitoring

Measure vibration simultaneously at 65 fixed points across a structure—with no mechanical scanning.

Q2S combines remote, non-contact vibration measurement with 3D geometry to support repeatable monitoring of bridges, infrastructure and other large structures.

Measure vibration simultaneously at fixed points across the structure

Q2S uses 65 parallel channels to acquire repeatable measurements across a defined field of view. Because the points are captured simultaneously, the instrument does not rely on mechanical scanning to build the response.

Fixed measurement points

A stable optical geometry keeps the same points in view for repeatable measurements and monitoring.

Simultaneous multi-point capture

All 65 channels measure in parallel at up to 40 kHz per channel in the standard configuration.

Non-contact and remote

Observe structural response without attaching sensors to the measurement points.

From vibration response to structural health

Q2S connects dynamic response with geometry so teams can measure movement, reconstruct structural behaviour and monitor changes over time.

1. Measure

Capture vibration at 65 points simultaneously, including velocity and derived displacement.

2. Reconstruct

Use geometry-linked data to interpret spatial structural behaviour and strain.

3. Monitor

Repeat the same fixed-point measurement geometry for continuous or long-term observation.

Vibration response, structural movement and spatial structural behaviour.

Built for bridges and long-term structural monitoring

Q2S is designed for fixed installations where structural response must be captured repeatedly without contact. Its simultaneous channels and integrated environmental compensation support bridge, infrastructure and continuous monitoring workflows.

  • Atmospheric compensation using pressure, temperature and humidity
  • IP54 enclosure and 0–40 °C operating range
  • Up to 240 minutes of battery operation

From velocity to displacement and strain

Q2S measures vibration velocity with a sensitivity below 50 nm/s/√Hz. Geometry-linked processing supports displacement sensitivity below 0.1 nm and strain sensitivity below 1 µstrain.

For high-speed or extended-range measurements, the modular SpeedSync configuration reaches sampling rates up to 125 MHz, velocities up to ±47.9 m/s and distances from 0.3 to 300 m.

Q2S technical specifications

Standard Q2S operation covers 0.5–50 m. Modular SpeedSync configurations extend the measurement range to 0.3–300 m.
