SpeedSync™ optical heads for QMini vibrometry

Choose the optical head around your stand-off range, target access and test environment. SpeedSync™ gives QMini™ LDV Station users a flexible, fibre-coupled route to non-contact single-point velocity measurement without adding mass to the target.

The SpeedSync™ Mini – Medium Range head is specified for 0.36 m to 2 m or more with the close-range adaptor. It uses 1550 nm Class 1M optics, manual focus as standard and a 50–200 µm spot size; remotely controlled autofocus is available as an option.

Choose the optical head around the test.

Not every measurement requires a full vibrometry array.

When one decisive measurement point answers the engineering question, SpeedSync keeps the measurement chain focused: position the head where access is best, acquire a clean non-contact velocity signal, then review the result in the QMini workflow.

It is a practical fit for bench validation, component testing and diagnostics where contact sensors add mass, wiring or access constraints.

Connecting simple LDV and advanced array workflows.

Choose SpeedSync when a single, high-quality velocity trace is the evidence you need.
  • a non-contact velocity measurement point on a difficult-to-instrument target
  • a fibre-coupled head that can be positioned independently of the QMini readout unit
  • manual focus as standard, with autofocus available for the Mini – Medium Range head
  • a QMini configuration matched to the required stand-off distance and test environment

Talk with an applications engineer before selecting the head so range, target surface and required output are aligned.

Built for demanding single-point measurements.

Reliable single-point vibrometry starts with the right optical configuration. We will help match the head, range, target surface and acquisition workflow to the measurement objective.

It is well suited to tasks involving:

  • modal testing
  • fast-moving targets
  • transients
  • rotating machinery
  • structural responses

In these scenarios, the optical head is not just a peripheral component. It is a core part of measurement performance.

Short-range and long-range options

SpeedSync heads are selected around working distance and access. For the Mini – Medium Range head, the specified operating distance is 0.36 m to 2 m or more with the close-range adaptor.

Built for the QMini LDV Station

A focused optical head for QMini single-point vibration measurement.

SpeedSync™ Mini – Medium Range is a fibre-coupled optical head for the QMini™ LDV Station. Its 2 m PM-fibre connection supports flexible positioning while the readout unit remains in a convenient location.

For a Q2 reference or synchronised workflow, contact an applications engineer to define the instrument configuration first.

More than a measurement head

Build a sound single-point measurement workflow.

Start with the measurement output you need: a velocity trace, frequency response, validation point or diagnostic signal. The QMini workflow supports acquisition, review and export without turning a focused test into a larger system project.

Integrated into a practical workflow

With QMini, SpeedSync fits a practical acquisition workflow: capture the measurement, review it in Atelier or OmmH5Viewer, then process and export the data for the engineering tools your team already uses.

SpeedSync selection questions

Choose the optical head from the measurement distance, target return, access and output—not from range alone.

What is SpeedSync used for?

SpeedSync is a fibre-coupled optical head for focused, non-contact single-point vibration measurement with QMini. It is suited to validation, diagnostics, modal testing, rotating machinery and difficult-to-instrument targets when a velocity trace, frequency response or reference point is the required result.

Which working distances does SpeedSync cover?

The Mini – Medium Range head is specified from 0.36 m to 2 m or more with the close-range adaptor. Standard configurations cover work below 50 m, while long-range configurations are published up to 300 m. Confirm optical return, access and environment at the real target.

What optical and focusing specifications matter?

The Mini – Medium Range head uses 1550 nm Class 1M optics, a 2 m polarization-maintaining fibre connection and a 50–200 µm spot size at 1/e². Manual focus is standard and remotely controlled autofocus is optional. Select the head around the required distance and surface.

How does SpeedSync connect to the measurement workflow?

SpeedSync connects to the QMini LDV Station for acquisition. Results can be reviewed in Atelier or OmmH5Viewer and exported for downstream analysis. Define synchronization, motion range, analysis band, file format and any Q2 reference requirement before choosing the configuration.
